Case One

A chap was quite annoyed at the time (he had made an appointment for a consultation in respect of buying a business) when it was suggested that the sum he had to buy a business with (which didn't quite reach double figures) would not support him let alone purchase a business as well. It was suggested that he would be better leaving the money in the bank, spend time finding some work say for six months and then deciding what he would like to do. “I thought you were supposed to give business advice he asked”? He was single, young, full of enthusiasm and ambition.

Fourteen months later a very different young business man made an appointment and arrived with a potential business partner, a bunch of flowers and a rather big grin. “It was sound advice but do you know how frustrated I was then?”

Case Two

Dealing with the couple who at one point found themselves sleeping on a friend’s garage floor one night with their children was a completely different situation. They blamed themselves entirely, and when they looked back they could hardly believe they had thought that everything could possibly have been so easy. Not understanding how things worked, they eventually found themselves in a situation where they had to close the door on their business and after a long period it was finally sold and debts paid.   After helping them when they came to talk to us and after more problems arose it was not surprising to find they had decided to return to the UK.

Case Three

“I can’t get hold of the person who has set my new company up; it was over six months ago, can I trade, am I legal to do so”? On checking the copy of the title deed (escritura) of the Company signed at the notary and his other papers the answer was simple, not at the moment and no. It took several weeks but yes he can and now he is.
